Selecting The Right Top-Coat

The two most critical components of any successful coatings project are the surface preparation and selecting the right top coat. Like building a house a solid foundation (good surface prep) and a quality roof to prevent leaking and damage (selecting the right top coat) will ensure success for years to come.

The two most critical components of any successful coatings project are the surface preparation and selecting the right top coat. Like building a house a solid foundation (good surface prep) and a quality roof to prevent leaking and damage (selecting the right top coat) will ensure success for years to come.

Not with ROCK-TRED! We offer twelve (12) different top coats for your customer's needs. Whether it is harsh chemical attack, heavy potential for abrasion/scratch resistance, high-intensity Ultra Violet (U.V.) exposure or just normal foot traffic, we have the right top coat solution for you!

Chem-Rock LV & MV: These two products are the "work-horse" 100% solids epoxy products that provide good resistance to moderate chemical attack (such as in residential garages and light manufacturing) and good U.V. tolerance to help maintain clarity in the coating and stability in the system below.

Chem-Rock Ultra U.V.: By far the most contractor-friendly 100% solids U.V. resistant epoxy top coat on the market today. Designed for indoor areas with higher than normal U.V. exposure such as atriums, showrooms, etc., this formulation allows contractors plenty of working time and has been tested against over 12 of the leading brands in an ultra violet QUV testing chamber and has yet to be surpassed.

P-50/P-100/P-200: Our fastest growing segment of sales so far in 2015! Polyaspartic formulations offer a hybrid of the best performance characteristics of epoxy and polyurethane. Our 3 formulations allow contractors to choose the right polyaspartic coating for their job. ROCK-TRED manufactures a slower version (P-50) which is GREAT for warmer conditions and those who have never installed polyaspartic products, a standard version (P-100) for normal to cool conditions and a low temp version (P-200) for cold applications down to zero degrees.

Chem-Thane WB Gloss, Satin or Matte: The water-borne urethanes are extremely hard, extremely abrasion and U.V. resistant. When Chem-Thane WB Gloss is used as a top coat on vertical or floor coating systems its stain resistance makes the surface virtually "graffiti-proof". The high yield per gallon makes this product line an economical and superior choice for high abrasion situations.

Chem-Thane 509/Chem-Thane 509 Satin: these two products are ideal when high abrasion and chemical resistance are what your customer is looking for.
