CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS White Tint Base is a twocomponent, waterborne aliphatic polyaspartic polyurethane. This unique non-yellowing coating produces an exceptionally hard finish with high level abrasion and very good stain resistance. CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS remains non-chalking, has superior UV resistance, provides excellent long-lasting protection from many chemicals and offers superior wear through durability.
CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS White Tint Base can be factory pigmented to provide a solid color finish coat for ROCKTRED’s floor and wall systems. CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS is used across many industries such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, warehousing and manufacturing. This waterborne product is easy to apply, and meets USDA/FDA guidelines for use in federally inspected facilities and all VOC/HAPS regulations for use throughout the United States.
CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS is typically applied between 5-6 mils WFT unreduced or at approximately 4 mils WFT when fully reduced with 15% potable water.

Limitations & For Best Results
- Do not apply when Humidity exceeds 70% or when the substrate temperature is 5˚F above dew point and falling.
- Allow each coat to dry to completely prior to re-coat.
- If applying a 2nd coat, the first coat of CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS can be lightly sanded to promote intercoat adhesion and the 2nd coat must be applied within 24 hours of completing the previous coat.
- May be applied directly to dry, prepared concrete, but an appropriate ROCK-TRED primer or base system is recommended.
- Do not apply this product heavier / thicker than the recommended spread rate / mil thickness or foaming or discoloration may occur.
- Do not split kits - full unit mixing is very critical to product performance.
- Do not entrain air when mixing or applying.
- Thinning with up to 15% clean water is recommended when applying to floors.
- Suitable for factory tinting only – do not field tint with ROCK-TRED Universal Colorants.
Pre-mix the Resin independently to reincorporate settled contents. Blend Resin and Hardener for 2 minutes with low speed spiral mixing blade to catalyze. Add water after catalyzing and continue to mix for another minute until viscosity is uniform. Apply via dip and roll using a 5/16” microfiber roller. Vertical applications may be made via airless sprayer and back rolling (refer to ROCK-TRED’s Best Practices for Installing CHEM-THANE WBP guide for more information on spray applications). ROCK-TRED product test data is based on temperatures of 75˚F. Viscosity and working time are affected by temperatures – always consider the ambient, surface, and product temperature at the time and place of installation.
Color and Textures
CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS White Tint Base is stocked in 1 gallon units that can be factory tinted C-03 Light Gray, C-13 Fawn Beige or C-18 White and typically shipped with 24 hours notice. Four gallon units of these 3 colors are available with 48 hours lead time. Other light colors are available, but require a 20 gallon minimum and carry an additional special order charge. Most ROCK-TRED products are available in a wide range of textures using an appropriate broadcast aggregate, but aggregate larger than 240 mesh may not remain in CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS under use. Approximately 1.42 pounds of ROCKTRED’s 240 grit Aluminum Oxide powder may be added into 1 gallon of CHEM-THANE WBP GLOSS at the time of mixing to increase abrasion resistance and the cured coating’s coefficient of friction. Adding AO powder will leave a superfine grain texture in the finish and will reduce light reflectivity. Repeated stirring the product during application to avoid the AO settling and then careful and even application is needed to avoid roller marks when AO powder has been added.

DO NOT allow ROCK-TRED products to freeze. All ROCK-TRED products should be properly stored above the floor on pallets or shelves, and in an area that has a constant minimum temperature of 50˚F.
Always apply ROCK-TRED products to a clean / sound substrate that is free of laitance, grease, oils, debris and curing compounds. Make certain that concrete is property dried and prepared before applying ROCK-TRED materials. Concrete substrates should be treated with the Rock-Block System when moisture testing per ASTM F2170 shows results over 80% RH. Whenever possible, remove existing coatings and/or flooring systems completely; if complete removal is not possible test to determine adhesion to the existing material. Mechanical preparation by means of shot-blasting or diamond grinding to a ICRI CSP 2/3/5 is the recommended preparation method (see ICRI Guideline No. 03732 for more information). If the substrate is not properly prepared and the appropriate profile is not achieved, failure of the product to adhere to the substrate may occur.
Application tools and equipment can be cleaned with soap and water immediately after use or with solvent once the product has begun to cure.
Product containers will contain product residue and must be disposed of properly. Label warnings must be observed at all times. All containers must be disposed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
